I think we've all learned that Joss Wheedon can only write one character, no matter where it's set.

Wow where to begin... I picked this up the second it was released and it far surpassed my expectations (and my expectations are always pretty high when dealing with Joss Whedon). I finished it within a couple of hours, I just could not put it down. This graphic novel has everything you could want: an incredibly intelligent and well-written story, great artwork, a feisty heroine, plenty of violence and gore, as well as Joss's usual heart-wrenching murder of a beloved character. A must read for Buffy fans naturally, and if you're even remotely interested in checking this story out, you will certainly not regret it!

if you like buffy the vampire slayer (and who doesn't), you'll probably like this. It's written by the same guy who wrote all of the buffy tv series (joss whedon), and is essentially the same idea as buffy. It's about a young, take no shit girl who finds her calling as a slayer, sound familiar so far? ...and it takes place in the future.

    good read.

Awesome art and a cool story that you can get into even if you've never seen Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Joss Whedon has really written a fantastic comic here. We all know from his work on Buffy, Angel, and Firefly, that he is a great storyteller, and this graphic novel just proves what a master he is at his craft.

Set in the future with flying cars, =0), Fray takes on aspects of the Buffy universe with new and interesting twists. All of humanity has changed through scientific experimentation, so non-human looking creatures are completely normal in this world. No longer needing to hide the world from monsters and magic, Fray is in-your-face action that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

I've never really been into Buffy, mostly because I was too young for the concept the first time around and it felt wrong to follow to spin-offs when you weren't into the thing it spun off of. However, Fray expands and compounds upon the original concept in a world distant from our own. However, knowing what I do of Whedon Canon and fanbase, if you subscribe to the theory that all of his works are in the same worldset, understand that Fray does contradict Firefly. One notable example (that I remember) is that Mel Fray doesn't know what bullets are, so if you wish that Buffy and River are both slayers or whatever, you'll have to do some overlooking and/or rationalizing. But this is offical canon for the Buffyverse.

But the comic itself is beautifully planned and thought out. There's not that many weak panels (considering the sheer amount of time people stand around talking is enormous, that's worth noting), all of the characters flow and fit together very well, the world is remarkably thought out most of the time for only eight issues. "Lurks" are appropriately disgusting and places feel grimy and icky. The plot does consist of a lot of talking, but its rather fast-paced talking and connects with the action scenes in a feel-right way.

In short, this comic is awesome.

The graphic novel sequel to the Buffy the Vampire Slayer saga, which takes place in a far-off future. Buffy banished the vampires and demons, but now they have regrouped and are attempting to return. Fray is the Slayer for the new age. The story is self-contained, but there is room for a sequel. More great storytelling from genius Joss Whedon.

I loved Fray. I have never been into comics, but Whedon has made me a convert.

Melaka Fray is a kickass, newly come into her destiny as Slayer in this dystopian urban fantasy. Melak is reunited with her thought-to-be- dead twin brother, Harth, who is now a Lurk/vampire demon out to take over the world with demons previously banished from Earth.

Very cool graphics, fast paced, adrenaline packed tale you'd expect from a graphic novel. Enjoyed i
