“Various members of my family were reading this so I picked it up too, and was sorta surprised by how good it was for WHAT it was. I don't usually read whatever this is--sort of family drama/romance (especially since there was incest in it, and very screwed up relationships with the kids' mother and grandmother) with a dash of the horrific since terrible things happened in that attic. Regardless, I found myself interested in who the characters were and what was going to happen to them. I read the next three in the series because I just wanted to know what was going to happen, but I didn't enjoy those the way I liked this one.”
