seems like more of his WW2 stuff. man, he wrote a lot of this crap, err...i mean this pulp. um, I'm not sure if I'll finish this; as much as i liked Hornet Flight, i find the beginning of it full of 2-D characters and, given the title, a predictable plot. but I'll keep it in my backpack because the writing echos, thinly, the beauty of Pillars of the Earth and World Without End. Its no wonder he slipped those two gems past us...he's usually a writer of pulp!

Author weaves the story with interesting characters all of whom travel the last clipper across atlantic. The kid character Percy invokes lot of humor with his satire directed against his father's fascist views

I've read a lot of Follett, but this is one I remember better than others. The fascination involves a murder mystery which takes place almost completely in a large plane flying over a large body of water in the middle of the night. Fascinating! Follett's a genius.

This book was my least favorite by Follet. Too much description and not enough action. Then end was also rather predictable.
