A man is found dead in Scotland from what appears to be an extremely deadly virus. The virus is worse than Ebola, with a zero percent survival rate. Toni Gallo is the head of security for the lab where the virus was stolen. She is instantly put on her guard to figure out how the man was infected and how the virus was transported out of the high security lab. This incident ensures that security is beefed up, any holes tightened, and more guards put on duty over the upcoming Christmas holiday. The new security measures don't thwart would be thieves and soon the virus itself is stolen from the lab to be used in a terrorist attack. The clock is ticking; the virus must be found before innocent lives are taken. Toni gets little help from the police and must track the thieves herself through a blizzard to avert disaster.

This was a fun read. Once I got into the story and knew the characters, it was a very quick paced read. I didn't want to put it down because I wanted to know what would happen. Outbreak stories have a built in suspense factor that I enjoy. I also enjoyed the budding romance stories woven throughout since they weren't overplayed. Definitely a book I would recommend and I'll be looking for other work by Follett to read.
