YA Books that Adults Should Read 698 books / 1782 members / 3972 posts Some of the best literature is written for young adults and children. This group is for sharing titles that are often overlooked because they are marketed to younger people.
Stephen King 87 books / 621 members / 2150 posts This is a group for fans of Stephen King. Let's talk about his work - favorite book, favorite characters, last read. Any and everything King. It would be nice to also talk about other authors King fans read while waiting for the next awesome Stephen King book.
NNBR - Not Necessarily Book Related 91 books / 547 members / 13706 posts Oh, come on! we need a place to just chat here, whether or not it's about books.

Religion, politics, recipes, games, restaurant reviews, dinner ideas, WWYD questions, tech recommendations, and whatever else you can think of or want to discuss.

Bitching and moaning are allowed. Bullying, trolling and scams are not.. This forum is not an appropriate place for authors to promote their books (but we'd LOVE to chat with you!) The management thanks you in advance for your cooperation.

A Note about Deleting Posts:
I don't generally delete threads, mostly because I'm pretty much against censorship (unless it becomes a mean, knock down drag out, name calling fight) but also because I believe that it is important to know where the idiots are, so to speak. If I deleted every obnoxious post, new folks would join the group and have no idea that that Person X had a habit of spouting all this nonsense. I think that if you're going to act like an idiot, your stuff should be left up so that everyone can see you for what you are. Forewarned is forearmed, IMO.

Please note: This is a private group, mainly to keep out lurkers and tittlebats. If you’d like to join, please do not email the group administrator. Instead, do leave your card with Mrs. Danvers, along with a note on her page, explaining why you’d like to gambol amongst us and what you’d bring to the conversation in terms of your obsession with all literary things Angl-ish.

Much Prized: The ability to write a coherent sentence, an appetite for stimulating intercourse and a deep and abiding love of British literature. The possession of a ridiculous British alias is much admired.

Much Frowned Upon: Lurking.

Dear Besotted Reader of British Literature,

Allow me to introduce you to our little circle, an oasis for those of you out there who suspect you’ve been born in the wrong country. You pale, lost souls who wish you could pepper your prose with spellings like “civilised” and “sense of humour” without eliciting raised eyebrows. You who stare at the clock wistfully at 3 pm and bemoan the fact that no steaming pot of tea and scrummy comestibles are nigh. You know who you are. You find yourself spending inordinate amounts of time reading Brontë, Austen, Dickens, Eliot, Woolf, Waugh, Mitford, Wodehouse and basically any other writer with a British accent. You curse fate because you weren’t a member of the Bloomsbury group. To your chagrin, you’ve never found a body in your library. You long to find others of your ilk, soul-mates with whom you can prattle on about British literature, poetry, cinema and telly without receiving blank stares in return. My dears, you are not alone.

Step into the drawing room and tell us all about it. Would you like one lump, or two?

Cordially yours,

Terence ("Tinky") Egbert Ethelred Edward George Kitty Carlisle

And I did, of course I did, but I also knew that I couldn't keep that door shut all my life, just because it was dangerous, just because there was a chance of getting hurt.
