This book provided a good insight to what really goes in the world. It is amazing how many girls are tricked into this kind of slavery. I would not reccomend this book to my sixth graders because it is very detailed and parts of it are a little bit too graphic. As an adult, however, it is a good, eye-opening, easy read.

really, it surprises me how a few people have read this book. it's an easy read, with short vignettes. but the names maybe a little hard to remember. but when after you read it, LAKSHMI will never leave your mind. i love this book! beats dan brown's, really.
