I was wholly engrossed in the drug addicted psychedelic cyber punk world that when it came to write an essay on the book for a module on contemporary fiction I totally failed and just felt like I was Scribble and sucking on a feather.

On the other hand, it is disturbing, and unpleasant in a variety of ways. I threw away my copy after reading it breathlessly to the end. I would rate it as clearly superior to Noon's other works (of which I've only read Nymphomation and Annotated Alice), which are less objectionable perhaps because they're less interesting.

So trippy, colorful, psychedelic and noisy, you'll think it was printed on acid-soaked paper. My favorite SF book ever.

This was one of my favorite books in high school, though I haven't read it since. Noon creates a fascinating, dystopic world that will suck you in.

Read this eons ago. Loved it at the time. Would recommend giving it a read. Helps explain the experience and implications of taking drugs. Almost feels like your on them at the time. Interesting concept.

I read this in the early nineties so, for me, this book attempts to explain the whole E-experience in a similar (though more successful) way to Brian Aldiss in "Barefoot in the Head" (incidentally the name of an early Acid House/Baleric band).
