“I read "Lucky" after reading her novel "The Lovely Bones" hoping to get a little insight as to what made her write such a dark story. Boy, did I get insight. In Lucky, Alice Sebold is brutally honest as she retells her survival story as a rape victim, while attending Syracuse University. This is probably not the best story for the weak of heart. However the writing was good and you can see the need for her to get her story out. It is a type of before and after story. Who she was before and how this tragic event shaped her life. ”
