This book just wraps up what i already know from myself and books of other kinds thru the ages. It is beautifully expressed and gives me impetus to make changes NOW! it makes me feel happy and grateful. It's not just a book to read and think oh that's a good book, its a book to envelop and make a part of your very being!

i think you have to be realistic with this message. positive thinking is...positive, but results also require action.

I agree that this book is part of the positive thinking trend, but my question is: how does this book compare to the 'Forrest Gump' theory in life? Which is the way forwards: claiming to actually take your destiny into your own hands, or just do 'what is proper' and take matters as they come? If I remember correctly the one thing Forrest most sought in life was Jenny, and still he achieved alot more than those around him? Please let me know what you think

This book was interesting. Though the concept of "the law of attraction" was not new to me when I began reading this, it was inspiring and motivating. I had first read "What The BLeep Do We Know?!" which goes into more detail on a scientific level and really explains the workings behind the concept. The Secret, on the other hand, helped to motivate and put into action the changes in my thinking and feelings to create changes in my life and the world as I see it. I would say anyone looking for something to help bring positive change to their life should read this book. There are many excellent books on the same or similar subject, but this is a good one to start with.

I am a HUGE fan of this theory. I have the audio, video and the book. While I do understand that the reading style of the book is a bit simplistic, I do believe it appeals to the masses. I was grateful at least to have something that looked different and was easy to put down if I needed to and not feel lost if I picked it back up.
I actually devoured this book and more importantly this concept. I have always felt that I was just on the edge of understanding what "it" all means and the concept of the law of attraction seemed to bring it all together for me.
To those that say it shouldn't be this easy...I thought the same until this all finally clicked. IT IS THIS EASY. That is the part I love about it. It doesn't mean that you won't work to get the things you want and it doesn't mean that you won't be proactive but once you really believe...it won't feel like work. Think about a time when you were really motivated, I bet you did so much for the project but even when you put in quite a few hours, you were still inspired to the point that it didn't feel like hard work. That is the point I believe in.
I have started asking and noticing when the power of intention is working in my life. It is starting to get kind of spooky to see all of the different places it comes into my life (if I let it.) I have had a extremely tough time controlling my thoughts due to a past that tends to get in the way of my relationships. While I haven't quite mastered everything, the change in my thinking since I began this practice is quite drastic. I feel like my normal self again and there are NOTICEABLE differences in my demeanor.
So, my opinion is to read this, devour it, and as I try to do with any book I read....pull the message out and take it into you. Don't get hung up on writing techniques or a single point that you might not agree with.
