The first chapter was mostly analytical and rhetorical (albeit, to me, interesting), and the second chapter was a heart-wrenching story of a man with perfect mental faculties but no control...” see full review » see other reviews » |

One can feel the bile and hatred and wickedness spewing from the Underground Man as he writhes underneath the floorboards on his self-imposed exile from humanity.
Quite simply a breathtaking book that one cannot finish and put away, tucking it somewhere in the dimly remembered folds of the mind. This book shifts something primal in the audience. Whether for good or ill cannot be said, but it is a necessity for those seeking an unforgettable experience. ”
“It was really amazing and incredible for me...
I like how the book starts out, the first three sentences-
"I am a sick man...I am a spiteful man. I am an unpleasant man. I think my liver is diseased."
it's a great opening.
”
“This book annoys the shit out of me. I know the narrator is supposed to be a douche, but still.”
