For a while I was in an "alternate history" vein, and Turtledove is the master. However, most of his stories spawn series (yuk!) Imagine my delight in finding a standalone book featuring one of my favorite authors, a Mr. William Shakespeare. The title of this book, "Ruled Britannia" has the Bard living in an England suffering under Spanish rule. And guess who gets to play the role of Luke Skywalker? Yep! (OK, he's more like Thomas Jefferson, or Thomas Paine, writing things to stir the pot of...
