“Definitely my favourite book from this series. I loved the relationship between Elizabeth and Robert Dudley and I must say that despite everything I quite liked them both. I missed the book after I finished it - always a sign of a good read.”

“I think Gregory's characterization of the great Queen Elizabeth Tudor was awful. She made her look like a silly love sick fool who couldn't think for herself. ”

“Although this book was interesting, well-written and certainly grabbed my attention, I disliked Gregory's take on the relationship between Elizabeth I and Robert Dudley, and the death of Amy Dudley. ”

“Part of the Tudor Series by Philippa Gregory; enjoyed the story of Elizabeth and her love, Sir Robert Dudley. The author notes at the end always make me want to learn more about the subject!”
