“I just wonder if Robert Dudley loved Queen Elizabeth or not? Did he love the power or Queen? Why did he get married with Laetitia Knollys?”
“Unlike some of the other reviewers, I had no problem with how Elizabeth was portrayed in this book since in my opinion Gregory showed her with both strong and frail sides. Frankly, I think this is a much more human portrayal than I've seen in other books and films. No one is strong 100% of the time and I seriously doubt Elizabeth was -- especially at the earliest part of her reign when this book is set.Gathering all of the Boleyn-esque books of Gregory's that I've read, here's how I'd rank them:1.
