The San Francisco police dept have all called in with the Blue Flu (on strike) When the Mayor re-instates Monk as captain , Monk and his three assigned former officers have to solve the case of a killer who takes only the left shoe of his victim. The death of an astrologer who might have upset the wrong person and some misc murders that don't seem connected until Monk is able to find a way to do it. ”
“This book was just okay! I'm not a fan of monk the show, however I feel the need to watch the show!! I hear the book does not do the show justice, strange that is not the way it usually works!!!”

“I enjoy the Monk television series, so I enjoyed this book. I don't know if a "non-Monker" would like it...I have no problem envisioning Monk because...well, I've seen the show. I did feel like it was a little anti-climatic. I was actually surprised that it was over...left with a "this is it?" feeling. However, it was entertaining, and it was Monk!”
