this book is the best you will ever read. this book is about a woman that is depressed and her husband is a doctor. back than women didn't have to many rights and they couldn't do anything. everytime they would they a woman was sad they would think she is sick. in the 1800s they treated women like animals. they would lock them in dirty cages and they would only feed them when they wanted to feed them. you would love this book if you like journals and this book is about the author herself.

Excellent short story metaphorically describing the Victorian Age and the strict rules for the behavior of women and their role in society.

So creepy and intriguing. Makes me cry from creeped-outedness. Also, of course, an important commentary on the role of women at the turn of the last century.

I read this a long time ago but I remember the power of this very short book and the questions I had about who was really the "crazy" one.
