I have read all of this authors' books and loved them. But, this one was a big disappointment. It was a long book and went on and on and on!! If it had been condensed, it would have been better. Truly, I hate giving a bad review. The storyline was good and the characters familiar. Maybe the...

I'm only half way threw the book right now but so far it if very good and exciting. You may get a little confused on all the different characters but what I do every time I don't understand something, I'll put a sticky note and write my question on it. I highly suggest it :)

Too many characters to keep track of! In this installment of the SCU there was the Haven members, Dani, Paris, Gabriel, Roxanne and John. Then Hollis, Bishop, & Miranda and then Marc and Jordan from the local sherrif's dept. There seemed to be so much going on character wise that the story got lost in the shuffle.

I didn't really like it much. I was hoping that we would get more insight into the characters already established in the Bishop/SCU series, instead I got totally new characters and no real development of those characters. I did and do like Hollis in this book.

BLOOD DREAMS is the start of a new trilogy with both new and familiar characters, and although it isn't my favorite story in the Bishop/SCU series, I still found it to be a quick, engaging read.

Dani has come home to Venture, Georgia, to comfort her twin sister, Paris, after her divorce. Or so she says. Both women know that there's really another reason that Dani has finally come home.

These sisters share a bond even closer than the normal one between twins, because they both possess psychic abilities. And Dani has been having dream visions that tell her an evil is coming to Venture, and that a showdown is inevitable.

Bishop and his SCU team have been tracking a vicious serial killer for over a month. When the demented killer made the mistake of killing a Senator's daughter, the murders in Boston abruptly stopped -- but Bishop is sure this particular killer isn't finished. And he's not, because it soon becomes apparent that he's come to the small town of Venture.

With Dani and Paris, Bishop and Miranda, John Garrett and his team from Haven (a civilian pyschic unit started by Bishop), and Venture's sherriff (and once Dani's lover) Marc, you're looking at a situation that's bound to end badly. Because this is one serial killer who is even more evil, and powerful, than any of them ever imagined.

BLOOD DREAMS is definitely a quick read, and kept me guessing throughout the story. Totally enjoyable, and a good set-up for more books centering around these characters.

This is a new book in another Bishop/Special Crimes Unit trilogy. I've enjoyed most of these books but this was not one of my favorite. I was a little disappointed in Dani as a character. She just wasn't a lead role in this book, in my opinion.

I will say that this was a very creepy story and if you get bad dreams from reading scary things late at night, don't read this one except on a bright, sunny day! The villain was very twisted. And the story in itself kept me reading this book, even finding it hard to put down at times. I guess I could say this story was much more plot driven instead of character driven. There didn't seem to be a lot of growth with Dani. I enjoyed the secondary characters. Maybe I just have forgotten many of the stories in Bishop's series. Maybe they're all more plot driven. But it was a good mystery that does leave you wanting to read the next book. We see some past characters and meet a few new ones. At least, I think they're new. I actually think I haven't read all the books in this series so maybe I've just missed these people. :)

Oh well. It was a nice mystery and I do enjoy the paranormal aspect of this series.

I found this book slightly confusing. Eventually it made since but I guess I am not a big fan of this format. I loved the character Hollis.

SCU, the FBI Special Crimes Unit, and Haven, a private psychic detective agency, join force to solve a string of grissly serial murders. On the team are Dani and Paris, a set of identical twins, each with different psychic abilities. Paris has just recently gone through a rough divorce, so Dani returned home to Venture, Georgia to be with her. Dani has been experiencing bizarre dreams of burning buildings, which Bishop, the head of the SCU, feels is linked to the murders. In the process of tracking the killer, the team is putting itself in jeopardy.

Frankly this story was very patchy and hard to follow. I think if I had read earlier books from this series, I might have understood more of what was going on. The author skips around from character to character making it difficult to follow the thread of the story. I am intrigued enough to maybe read another of this seris, but not right away.
