Duncan Delaney has it all - he's a talented artist, the son of a rich Wyoming rancher, and he has the most beautiful girlfriend in Cheyenne. But a chance meeting on a lonely western highway convinces him to throw it all away and leads him to Los Angeles against his mother's wishes where he finds success in his art and trouble with his love life when he falls in love with Pris, a beautiful but screwed up stripper. His quest for happiness is complicated by his lunatic Indian friend Benjamin and Sheila Rascowitz, a successful lesbian artist and Duncan's seeming competition for Pris.
