  “Hardback mystery. The heroine is a member of Congress from Texas who finds a fellow Congressman murdered in her private office. Suspicion of course, attaches to her, and she’s determined not to leave her future in the hands of others. This story has a Texas flavor, but gives a real inside look at the “corridors of power” as well. One of my favorite characters is the congresswoman’s pet—a one-eyed chimpanzee named Abe. (He was a stray.) It’s a very good mystery, has a smidgen of romance,”
