This author has the bravery to out himself as having a very unfashionable passion -- eating candy. Every page is a pleasure, but I have to say I went on a demented candy spree of my own after finishing it. This is not going to help you stay on your diet. But it is deeply validating for those of us who understand that twizzlers really do taste like raincoat.

God, I love this book. Fricking hysterical. It's part memoir, part pop culture commentary, part political commentary all wrapped up in a delicious, chocolate package. And hello? It's about CANDY. What's not to love. I went on a binge with "old fashioned" candy after the first read. Even had to go to Ebay to find dark chocolate Kit Kats (which, BTW, I highly recommend.)

This is one of the funniest books I have ever read. Ot is so well written and the author is so passionate about candy and all its splendor... it makes for a totally fun read.

As enjoyable and light as the nougat filling he lovingly describes, this book is intriguing in how it describes the wares of small candybar companies trying to survive in a world of corporate giants. You'll find yourself suddenly eyeing candybars and justifying your purchases as "research." Lucky for me I live in NYC was able to sample many of the treats described in the book including my new favorite Goo Goo Clusters. Don't read it if you want to stick to your diet.
