Liked It“‘Under The Boardwalk’ is the first book in the Costa sister’s series. This is Ariana’s story. Didn’t Like It“My first Carly Phillips. Well, it was okay and i would have appreciated it more if i read this 2 decades ago. I guess i have outgrown this genre but might borrow another of her books if i need a break from the murder mystery mayhem and other seriousness.” see full review » see other reviews » |
“‘Under The Boardwalk’ is the first book in the Costa sister’s series. This is Ariana’s story. I actually read the sequel ‘Summer Lovin’’ this summer, without realizing at first that it was the sequel. It was nice now to go back and read the first to connect the dots, of what I missed.
Ariana Costa has returned to New Jersey from Vermont when she finds out that her twin sister Zoey has gone missing. Attempting to find out more about Zoey’s disappearance, she goes to work at Damon’s, a hotel and casino. But Quinn Donovan is on the case, and when someone tries to shot at Ari, mistaking her for Zoey, Quinn is there to save her.
Quinn then makes it his mission to keep Ari safe, all the while she is trying to find her missing sister.
This book was just as good a ‘Summer Lovin’’, especially after already reading about these characters it was like coming home to a big crazy, fun family. I would very much be interested in reading more about them.

“Good book, easy read”

Ariana (Ari) never felt she belonged in her own family but it turns out she began being judgmental because of their eccentricity. It has a nice ring to it, intriguing since she belongs to a family of cons and scammers that she just ran away from it all, only to go back because her sister missing. She then met Quinn, and as usual sparks flew, attraction settles in, lust builds up and explodes until everyone is breaking down his and her self-built barriers. Characters didn't reach me that well, just when I thought it's getting better, it seems like Ari is in a mid-life identity crisis. Quinn is one of those hard on the outside and soft on the inside heroes, having grown up without a biological family, he embraced Ari's family and for the first time felt belonged. There is slight character development, quirky secondary characters, but the story is just ok all the same. It's a light read, but I didn't enjoy it that much.”
