“It wasn't as good as the first but a lot of things were explained. The High Lord is introduced in this book too. ”

But Dannyl's research in Elyne was boring, so I found myself skipping over his parts. Except for the part with the giant sea leaches attacking the ship. That was exciting.”

There are quiet a few different view points in the book; however, Sonea's is the main story line and view point.
The book was more enjoyable than the first (The Magician's Guild) in the series. Character development and plot building was great. Akkarin is probably my favorite of all the characters in the book and the ending left me racing to start the next to see where the story goes from here.
Dannyl's story line could have been more exciting. I realize why it's included, but honestly I just wanted to get back to Sonea and Akkarin.”
