Cast of Characters/Important People

  • Otori Takeo: The adopted son of Shigeru, forced to conceal his origins as the boy Tomasu, a member of the Hidden. He survives the massacre of his family by the Tohan clan and is rescued by Shigeru. Lord Shigeru sees in him the chance for revenge on Iida Sadamu by harnessing Takeo's supernatural gifts.
  • Otori Shigeru: Lord Shigeru is the rightful heir to the Otori clan.
  • Maruyama Naomi: Lover of Shigeru. She is a member of the only ancient family whose clan is inherited by females.
  • Shirakawa Kaede: Kaede is the beautiful cousin of Lady Maruyama. She and Takeo fall in love.
  • Iida Sadamu: Lord of the Tohan Clan.
  • Muto Kenji: Master of the Muto family. He teaches Takeo to harness his supernatural abilities.
