It amazes me how a substance can change a person so quickly. How it can make your life escalate and then sink it as quick as a heartbeat. How it can make you...” see full review » see other reviews » |

The content is definitely mature, but my hope would be that readers would see it as a cautionary tale; certainly I would never want to be or become the protagonist. I had heard many people rave about this book and bought it for cheap off of Amazon to bring with me on a plane ride and I finished it half way through my flight there, though I had intended to read it the whole trip. I couldn't put it down despite moving terminals, motion sickness, and turbulence. I just had to finish this book, and that isn't something that happens for me every day. I would recommend it to a mature reader who doesn't mind a unique format. ”

Bree is the exact opposite of Kristina--she's fearless.
Through a boy, Bree meets the monster: crank. and what begins as a wild, ecstatic ride turns into a struggle through hell for her mind, her soul-her life.
Kristina goes to New Mexico to see her father. When she goes, the first night she meets a boy named Adam. They are instantly attracted to each other. One night, Adam shows Kristina or "Bree" crank, the monster. She says she has never felt this amazing in her life. She and Adam begin a romance until she has to go back to Nevada to be with her mother, stepfather, gay sister, and brother. However, she brings the addiction with her. She meets two boys named Brendan and Chase. They both have connections to the monster. She is so desperate for crank that she lets Brendan rape her. Chase and Kristina bond more and more and they eventually fall in love. Her addiction to crank grows when she makes friends with Robyn, a sister of Trent (a former friend of Kristina)”
“Kristina Georgia Snow is an innocent, high school junior girl who is quiet and doesn't have a lot of friends. She goes to visit her father in a different state than where she and her mother live. While she stays with her dad, Kristina goes through a lot of stuff and develops an alter ego, named Bree. The new Kristina is the opposite of what she used to be like. She meets a guy that she eventually falls hard for. He introduces Bree to the monster, Crank. It's all fun and games at first until everything starts to fall apart and her life is put in danger. And with danger comes more children and she tries to find the fathers.

This book allows you to see the pain, the horrors of going insane. Gives you understanding the price of being some one else to live life solely on desire.
After you read it you will understand how swiftly a person can fall how one domino can take it all.
It's another look at the fall of man; I hope when you read it you can understand damnation is a fickle thing; hell is closer then most think.
I belive this is a must read; five stars as you can see. I'm planning on reading the others, and I obtain Go Ask Alice for free, it mentions Crank but I'm not sure if it's anything really to do with it. "Haha" Either way I hope it'll be just as awakaing.

“After running away from home, Kristina is faced to the dangers out in the street. Almost being attacked Kristina is saved by a guy, Adam helps her!
