“This off-shoot series of Stirling's Dies the Fire series is just as fun, and follows the island of Nantucket as it's transported 3,000 years into the past. I really enjoyed this twist on time travel, as it's not just a person or a small group, it's an entire miniature culture, and as such it has intellectual resources enough to become a player on the world stage very quickly. (Plus, it features genuine dodo birds. How can you go wrong with dodo birds?) My advice to anyone reading Stirling--just go with it, and have fun. Stirling is my brain candy.”
