“I loved this book when I was in my teens and had no taste. Then I read it again last year, and couldn't believe how terrible it was. Clunky, unbelievable dialogue, unconvincing action scenes, stupid plot twists, rampant racism and sexism, and a central character who's so naff and hateful, I ended up putting it down half way through, and resolving never to touch it again.

Rubbish in the extreme.”
