"Assuming that the reader possesses a working knowledge of Greek, this book identifies the common grammatical, lexical, cultural, theological, and historical mistakes Bible exegetes can make. In Fundamentalist Journal, Robert Yarborough reviewed Exegetical Fallacies this way: 'Carson has furnished a pithy and practical manual of many of those mistakes to which all of us who deal with the text in earnest fall prey.'"

D.A. Carson does a FABULOUS service to the Christian community with this short, highly readable, example filled tome on the most common errors in biblical exegesis. Dr. Carson is brilliant and accomplished but capable of writing at the layman's level of comprehension. Though I read it in Seminary, I would read it again just for fun. Any serious student of the Word needs this book on their bookshelf, and EVERY pastor should study it very carefully. We here enough non-sense in the pulpits that could be avoided were people to pay attention NOT to make some of these common exegetical mistakes.

An excellent book! If you have been preaching or teaching the Bible for any length of time, Carson will probably point out something that will make you squirm. :-)

So, read the book, and handle the Word correctly!
