I was enraptured by the literary texture and content of this book! Clive Barker, who may not have such a vast and devoted following as Stephen King or Anne Rice in the Fantasy/Horror genre, weaves a strikingly vivid tapestry of a parallel world inhabited by a vast array of dark and colorful characters entwined in an epic struggle. Though it may take some time to adjust to Barker's style and pace, you will find it hard to put this book down.

Some people love Clive Barker, and I absolutely love a good fantasy, but this book didn't do much to thrill me. It's dark and twisted...usually elements that I go for, but for some reason I just couldn't get into this one.
