Y: The Last Man Vol. 7: Paper Dolls

by Brian K. Vaughan

The saga of Yorick Brown, the last man on Earth, continues in PAPER DOLLS, writer Brian K. Vaughan and artist Pia Guerra's award-winning VERTIGO series. In addition to catching up on the adventures of Yorick's monkey Ampersand (whose body holds the key to stopping the male-killing plague) and telling the origin of Agent 355, PAPER DOLLS chronicles Yorick and 355's search for Yorick's fiancee... This is a great graphic novel that hypothesizes what the world would be like without men. Due to a plague that wipes out all "man"-kind, only one man and his male monkey survive. With the help of a scientist and a government agent he sets out to find his girlfriend and of course a cure. There are many twists and turns throughout the story ending with a very interesting and appropriate ending.
There are 10 volumes in the series but for the sake of shelf space I only listed the first one.

This was the first comic book/graphic novel (whatever) that I have ever read. The story was interesting enough but the dialog was sometimes corny. I'd like to read the rest of the story...but I may just borrow the other installments if I can.

Personally, I loved everything about this story, up to and including the final issue. I don't know if there was a way of ending the story that would have been completely satisfactory to me...mainly because I want Yorrick and the gang to live in my house. So..I think it gave about as much closure as was possible, and the thought experiment of "what the world be like if...?" played out wonderfully as far as I was concerned. Thoughts? Disagreements?

So...I'd like to know what people thought of the last issue. I know what I thought but I'd like to see how other people reacted before I put in my $0.02

I agree, I think you should be able to show what comic no's or vols you've read. The series is fantastic.

I love this series. It's fun, engaging, intelligent, and creative. I've only started reading the series yesterday and I'm nearly done.

Honestly though, I wish I could add them all separately like I've done with other graphic novel series, instead of having to lump all the volumes into only one book.
