Didn’t Like It“I know it's considered a classic of American literature, but it didn't pull me in. Too sad. The dialect was hard for me to understand. We get to see the lives and trials of lowerclass black families through the eyes of the undereducated Celie. We also see the racism and prejudice of the white culture through hers and her sister Nettie's eyes. All around Celie is a world of sexism and marital feminine serfdom, where everyone is having an affair. This is a book you won't want to put down. Warning: Cussing, sexuallly explicit, illegal acts”

(By the way, I'm be eternally grateful to Jane Austen for re-writing Sense and Sensibility into normal prose. Close call there.)”
