I was weary of this book after being a little let down by the previous one. I was also worried about a starting a new plot line and having dull new characters. I have also had it happen that after a while in the same series the quality of the books goes downhill. Much to delight this is as good as Erikson's original 3 in the series. The new characters are some of the best yet in his series, and the plot lines are never dull. If you have liked the Malazan Books keep reading, this one is...
