“I only gave it three stars because compared to his other works, this one, in my opinion, is the least memorable, but that may have more to do with the order in which I read them. Sapolsky is a top-notch writer and whatever he writes about is worth reading; I'd just recommend his other works before this one.”

While I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it is NOT a novel and wouldn't recommend it to those looking for a conventional "fun" read. It is "fun" only if you think science is fun! ”

This book is a collection of Sapolsky's essays from various Science periodicals. One of the main points of the essays in this book is that who we are as individuals is shaped by both genetics and environment, specifically: our genes cause us to be sensitive to certain environmental factors. Fascinating, informative and entertaining. I'm learning a lot about how my brain works in relation to the environment around me. If you like entertaining writing on Science, I highly recommend this book”
