Must read for computer gamers who have the patience and intellegence to take on the game. As fun to read as the game is challenging.

I loved the Myst adventure games. I've played Myst, Riven and Exile. This story is a prequel. Easy read, and a page-turner. It was fun!

EXCELLENT book about prejudice, pride of society, love, hate and jealousy, full of action! This book is so incredible and sadly it is not as well known as it should be. BUT that will change because there is a MOVIE being made based on it! And also this book features books that take you to other worlds, and it ties in with the Myst video game series.

It was alright, pretty decent world building, I need to read the whole series and then play the game again.

The book Ti'Ana, I think is better than the first book by far. Every time you think some one is there to help you they end up hunting you down! In this adventurous book you will encounter love and loss. Happiness and anger. Any one who likes intriguing, mystery/ action books, read this one!

SEgundo libro de MYST. En este libro verás la misma historia que en el de Atrus, pero desde el punto de vista de Ti'Ana (su abuela) te esclarece muchas dudas que no sabías que tenías del primer libro.

    Muy buena lectura!

A very good follow up from the first book. I enjoyed watching the story of Ghen's father unfold while watching the interaction with the surface dweller and the D'ni. This also covers the fall of the city and sets up the scene for the future.

Well, in many ways, I enjoyed this book more than the first one. But I sometimes felt like the authors were biting off a bit more than they could chew.

    *Spoilers Ahead*

It was nice to learn more about Tianna (Anna) as you know from the first book that here role in the story is much bigger than it is in the first book.

What became frustrating to me was when Tianna came to D'ni herself. What this book revealed is that not just Gehn, but almost all D'ni had a God complex and were extremely self-righteous and hypocritical. I can understand their society having hardliners with more moderate thinkers, but it just seemed like everyone was extreme in their ways of thinking. And I found it confusing how they treated Tianna when she first arrived. As if this was the first time they had ever encountered someone else that wasn't of the D'ni and they felt it necessary to bring her in front of this large council chamber and judge her.

I guess I just expected this advanced civilization to not be so rigid and distrusting. But in this sense, it made me understand Gehn a little more. People might wish to think Gehn was this bad halfbreed who had gone crazy; I simply think he was just too much like the majority of the D'ni.

The problem with this book for me was that I had no sympathy for what happened to their civilization. In the end, I only felt they got what was coming to them. But watching them behave the way they do is pretty frustrating.

Besides that, it's still a beautiful book and in many ways it flows a lot better than the first book. Not as many drawings as the first, but that's not a problem really. The second Myst book wasn't really that bad as I may seem to be pitching, I just think it should've gone for another draft or two, scanning for irrational character behaviors and depicting the D'ni race as not being so stupid. But if they were meant to be stupid, then I guess that's how the book shows them to be.

Book of Tianna is the best written of the Myst novels thus far. It tells the story of Atrus' grandmother, and incidentally introduces the D'ni backstory - cavern city - the magical teleporting Art- and the great fall of their civilization.
