Within reach by Mark Pfetzer is an amazing book. The book takes place in the highest mountains of the world. It’s an informational book about mountain climbing. Mark Pfetzer is a young teenage who sets a personal goal to climb Mt. Everest. Mark has all the support from his parents and from his school to proceed with his dreams. Thor Keiser is Mark’s personal trainer and his guide on the mountains. Thor is a middle aged man who loves helping others who have the same passion that he does.
My favorite part of the book is how realistic Mark Pfetzer makes this book. He includes all of the real life experiences of mountain climbing. I really enjoyed how Mark Pfetzer talked about his climbing partners on a personal level.
Although I enjoyed this book very much I wish there was more explanation of the climbing. For example Mark would talk about being at a camp and then just arriving at the next camp.
I would recommend this book to people who like the outdoors and adventure of mountain climbing.

The most amazing thing about Within Reach is the determination and focus a 15 year old can have. It inspired me tremendously. For that aspect, I can recommend this book.

As far as a book about climbing mountains, this will only be of interest to people who are already into hiking and climbing. Despite being co-authored by a jounalist, the narative is a little choppy and lacks the element of suspense and drama other "true mountain" authors have been able to infuse into their stories. (Like, Forever on the Mountain by Jim Tabor.)

Still, if you are interested in stories about the big mountains, this is an interesting one and a fast read.

My Everest Story is an amazing story about the author himself Mark and how he embarks on an adventure to climb the tallest and most braved mountain in the world. This mountain is Mount Everest. The tallest mountain in Nepal and the world. mark sets on an adventure to try and climb this mountain with a group of his friends and also family members. He starts this journey with no difficulty because he has had many intensive training on dealing with hard and tough tracks and trails like this. If Mark does make this climb he will be the youngest person to ever climb Mount Everest. Mark is determined to do it but there are many obstacles in the way including a small snow storm that lands on the mountain just when he reaches the first base camp that leaves them stranded there for days to come. Mark however is still determined to finish this hike and trail because he wants to finish this goal he has set for himself. Making this climb is hard but the only thing blocking him from accomplishing this awesome feat is his determination and nature. This is a really great book because it helps give hope and courage to people that has lost their own determination in my own opinion.

I read this for work in one weekend--the story of a teenager, Mark Pfetzer, who sets his sights on the highest mountain in the world and trains with unrelenting dedication to get there. You should recommend this book to every teenage boy you know.
