Jace Montgomery has bought an old house or estate and it has a hair raising history lots of it. He has bought it with this in mind. And he intends to find some answers as his wife to be has committed suicide or at least is said to have and her step mother and sister had both shown up quickly with papers to prove her mental instability.

There are many clues that have been ignored and Jace has slowly uncovered them and begins to put them together. Nigh a self employed reporter at Margate has begun to assist him and since she's a native then she has been a good source of personal information or at least some things that wouldnt necessarily in the papers. When piece after piece of evidence is found he and Nigh finally begin reluctantly to put the pieces of the picture of truth together.

After a visit with an old school mate or actually an old reluctant and forced roommate. She reinforces the idea that indeed Stacey was a miserable teen and seemed to have found a source of happiness that was extremely forbidden. An older man at least 30 yrs old and he had lived at Margate estate, the very estate that Jace has purchased and the address that was written on the paper found in the room where Stacey's body was found.

After interviewing Mrs. Brownes grandson they then realize that it was she who murdered Stacey and she is brought in. Then they get through this mystery and the next one nearly solves itself.
