“Started off very interesting and inspiring but as it went on the book seemed to lose its way.”

She was born eaton florida which she called an all negro town. As a child her mother became ill and died. She found an interest in books at a young age and they became something of an obsession. She later became an author and showed her interesting and metaphorical twists on books and her own original stories .I enjoyed her comical and detailed life story and hope you will too.”

Her descriptions are lovely to read, and it reminded of another book by Hurston, Their Eyes Were Watching God. After reading this, you can tell her life is what inspired her ideas for fictional works.”

What a fabulous woman and a role model for anyone that doesn't think they will ever make the climb up the hill. ”

"It seems to me that trying to live without friends is like milking a bear to get cream for your morning coffee. It is a whole lot of trouble, and then not worth much after you get it."
"I have been in Sorrow's kitchen and licked out all the pots. Then I have stood on the peaky mountain wrappen in rainbows, with a harp and a sword in my hands."
"To me, bitterness is the under-arm odor of wishful weakness. It is the graceless acknowledgement of defeat."”
