The book is simple, but profound at points. I am enjoying it!

Had to read pages more than once to comprehend many of the concepts. However, by the end of the book, I had had some enlightenment about myself and why I respond the way I do to certain situations. There were also some key ideas on how to cope.

I would advise everyone to read this book. It helped me reconcile my own rejection of faith and religion with my spirituality. It can be applied to anyone's current spiritual beliefs. I wouldn't classify this book as "self-help" although it did improve the quality of my life. Less stress, less anxiety, less suffering, more zen.The only thing that kept this book from "loved it" status was its redundancy. It was purposeful redundancy, but I didn't need it since I bought his premise from chapter 1. Thanks Oprah!

I picked up this book when I came to know that each student at Stanford Uni's Convocation was given a copy of it by Oprah ( rather odd). The book is about how each individual can change the earth by individually changing their own behavior. This book is really dense and philosophical. At times I got lost and wondered what the author is talking about. The book does have some pearls of wisdom though. Chapters on "Ego" and "Finding who you truly are ?" are something completely different and interesting. The author conveys a good message; but says it in 309 pages :P.So pick it up if you have the patience.

Not as accessible as some of the other current writers influences by Buddhist thought and practice, but Tolle makes no apologies for challenging his readers to create a new world. Ideas about mindfulness and ego are presented. Worth a read.
