The best phrase I read in this book was: EVEN THE BELIEF IN GOOD IS A POOR SUBSTITUTE FOR THE LIVING REALITY OF GOD MANIFESTING EVERY MOMENT OF YOUR LIFE

It is a good book; makes you think. However, I connected more with "The Power of Now", his first book. The writing seemed deeper and very genuine. Overall, I found his first book to be a better read. Maybe I didn't like it as much because some of the concepts mentioned were repeated.

I didn't read the book because Oprah said so. I ran across it in a section of the library and thought it looked interesting. I agree with some of what is written but some of it I completely disagree with! The chapter on........ "this too shall pass" I read and re-read and came to the conclusion that if I am in my densest form I am going to appreciate the true highs and lows. I don't want to go through my life trying to stay at the center and becoming comfortably numb. You are here to live and experience form through form............ no form will come soon enough!

I read this book and after each chapter I paused and downloaded the podcast off of Oprah's website where Tolle discusses the chapter in depth. It was an amazing experience and quite life altering in the most positive way. I have never enjoyed a spiritual book to this degree and found it so practical. Tolle writes in a very contemporary way and by doing the podcasts it solidifies the whole book in your heart and mind. LOVED IT!!

I've started reading this and following along with Oprahs webcasts... It is a bit deep in places but makes so much sense and really changes your perspective on lots of things...

I have become much calmer and more laid back since strting it and i let things go , that previousley would have eaten away at me..

    an awesome read....

I'm finding this book to be a very nice "how to" guide to discovering our being. I am currently reading the chapter about the material world and our need to identify with it.

I'm sending loving thoughts to those people who are so identified with the ego that they will allow themselves to become so consumed with hate. Oprah, Ghandi, Joe Shmoe, Me...we're all the same.

I am listening to the CD version of this book (with Tolle actually reading his own book to me!) and find it very engrossing! I am on the third reading and still find it one of the most simply put concepts of Spiritual Reality I have ever come across! His directions to improve your life is very effective! It has changed my focus in every way! I am now more aware of my every moment and moving forward in a fresh and creative, happy mood!
Get this one for certain! He has a bit of an English accent, but you become familiar with his words very soon and enjoy his many inflections!!
Certainly beats reading the book! I love the CD Version! Wish more books were published in this medium !!

    Hi,Everyone-

When I read Power of Now four years ago I knew something was there but couldn't quite grasp it. The New Earth both the book and the Oprah show, really helped me understand it.

    It can be life changing-

    Thanks
