Ruby was the only one in class because the mob out frontwhite parents did not allow their white children to attend school with a girl of color. This story also tells of how Ruby prayed for the schoolwhite people in the neighborhood to look beyond her skin color and harass her, callingrecognize her names throwing things at her was uncall for. Seeing her still go every day to school just shows that the Young generation can make a diffrence to.as an equal human being.
