“This is a very well-written, engaging book. It would be fantastic read for non-scientists who wish they better understood how chemical advances fit into the world and have affected it. I'll be buying several copies of this as gifts this year. That is my highest form of recommendation.”

“Really excited to read this one. Simply flipping through the book it shows the molecular structure of numerous molecules and the chapters seem like individual stories that are short and sweet!”

“This is a good introduction to chemistry for non-scientists. The examples are engaging; however, some of the conclusions the authors jump to are a little far-fetched. Read it, but with a grain of salt.”

“A fascinating combination of social history and chemistry, this book aims wide by looking at specific world events and how the chemical world influenced the outcome of history. This book is a terrific way for a non-scientist to comprehend practical applications of chemistry! The writers also challenge historical views of world events. Well written and engrossing”

“I enjoyed reading about how molecules made a huge impact on history and looking at the diagrams of the molecules in the book. It was fun to look at the difference between the molecules and see how one part of the molecule can be changed and it completely changes it's structure and function. I do not get into science much and therefore I didn't enjoy that part of the book as much. ”
