A bit of overplay, but good read.

24 hours in a luxury hotel, it's never dull. The outrageous behaviours of the guests makes this book compelling reading. The entire hotel business is a racket as you will soon learn when everyone is stealing off everyone else.

Slightly shocking and mildly entertaining, it's a fun read. I've long considered entering the hotel management business, so this was a fun peak into the hidden life "behind the desk" of a 5-star hotel. I purchased the book after viewing (and loving) the BBC series it is based on; unfortunately, this book is more of a tabloid "tell-all" 24-hours inside kind of splash than the high-gloss narrative show it spawned. With less glamour and more gossip, it left me a bit disappointed. However, that's not to say that I didn't laugh out loud at certain points (Extra Pillows and the Dressing Gown Man come to mind). Overall, it was an enjoyable (and very quick) read, but I much prefer the BBC series.

Very interesting insight into the hotel industry, supposedly based on true facts although it's based in a fictional hotel.
    Good read though.

Quick, fantastic, hysterically funny read. I love how all these wild incidents were compressed in a 24 hour timeline.

Terribly fantastic, and in my opinion, much better than the show based on this book.
