This is a reissue. Trilby has inherited a ranch near Douglas, AZ. She moves there from New Orleans. The culture shock is great. The dusty, dry land is overwhelming. To add to the mix the Mexican Revolution is just getting started on the border and the danger to southern AZ is great. Her neighbor, Thorton Vance, is a wealthy cattle rancher but has no water. Trilby does. The tug of war is wonderful. Lots of AZ history here. Felt right at home

This was an emotional tale. Diana Palmer also wrote about different romances that were occuring in the book and not just the hero and herione. Diana Palmer did a great job summarizing all the lives of everyone in the book so the reader is not left wondering what happened to so and so.
