Didn’t Like It“Stopped after 50 pages. Unfortunately a bit dated--The Moral Animal does a much better job of introducing the most interesting parts of this material. IMHO.” see full review » see other reviews » |
“It was very interesting, although I think a lot of Richard Dawkins personality came out in the book and he came across bitter if not annoyed in places. It also didnt answer all the questions of why certain things remain in the Gene pool which according to his theories shouldn't, so although Gene's do play an important part in evolution (probobly ]99%) and are more pesistent than the longevity of any human, I suspect there is something more at play.”

There is lot of science in this book but very easily understandable, also it answers lots of questions whch are in philosphical space. For me it gave another reason to believe in living in the moment theory as lots of things that we take as facts are just made up stories. Still have lots of questions after reading it but I really liked the way Dawkins formulated his theory and I am looking forward to reading his other books. The best part is he clearly tells that what he is putting forth is a theory based on some facts and he never claims it to be the Ultimate Truth. For me this book comes parallel to FountainHead and Zen and The Art ...”

This book, now over 30 years old, is simply timeless. The ideas here tie into every single aspect of human life and brings about a rubber-meets-the-road perspective into every aspect of living.”
