I read this book a year ago but It still makes me cry when I think about all she went through to get away from your crazy family, find your love and begin to start a new family of her own which in the end was all taken away from her by what she had fought so hard to get away from her family

This was an amazing story. It is written in poetry form, though rarely in rhyme. This made me take the time to actually 'read' and not 'speed-read', so it had more of an impact. It is sad, poignant, hopeful, and hurting. This story will be on my mind for a long, long time.

I liked the book a lot, but the ending broke my heart.

I do have a question about what happened in the end...please don't put it on here so we don't spoil it for other readers, but can someone send me an e-mail so I can ask the question I have? THANKS.

Very artfully done. Although the authors note at the end, prattling on about Nevada, kinda ruined the tone of the story, you don't have to read it. I love how very few of her stories have 'happy endings'. They're so much more life like that way.
