I think it says a lot about this book that I apparently read it, had it on my reading list as definitely read, but I can't remember a single thing about it.

Smart, sexy, futurist gold. Distraction is one of those cyberpunk satires that are almost scary, because they aren't so far fetched that you can't imagine it happening. The characters are at once realistic and absurd (much like real people), the protagonist more so in both categories. This story was fun to read, and the finish was more than a little surprising.

The best book on present-day technology and politics I know.
