Alvirah and Willy travel to Vermont with Regan Reilly's family for a ski vacation. On a nearby farm a tree is scheduled to be cut down and put in Rockerfeller Center. Meanwhile a crook involved in investment fraud has hidden something very valuable in that tree. A light mystery, with some humor provided by the poet who is involved in the plot.

A fun Christmas story with enough mystery and suspense to make it enjoyable.

I find that the books of Mary and Carol are too simple. They are short and usually have large print. I think I prefer a book that has a bot more meat to it and is a little tougher to read.

This is another one of the annual Christmas story from Mary and Carol HIggins Clark featuring Alvirah and Regan in this joint book. Only this time it involves a tree. A great read!
