“Funny”

They are a great easy romantic escape book with suspense added in. If you want a very good light read - this is it! The characters really make you like them. I was surprised by the ending. There is romance but not too much. I didn't want to put it down.”

Yes | No“I don't know how can a novel about someone unemployed, working to protect abused women, and has a sad history in her family and love life be 'humourous' as was described in the title of the book.
Roxann's name is misspelt at least once in the 10 pages I read.
I'm not going to read anymore of it.”
“I have read a couple Stephanie Bond books, but I just couldn't get into this one. I read about 60% of the book and STILL nothing interesting was happening...finally I gave up and moved on.”

Stephanie Bond has been my go to "brain break" author this year, love her busy, amusing, light books. But this one she just didn't seem to have it quite together yet. While her characters are colorful as always, the plot seemed to be all over the place. So many characters, so many problems intertwining into the main story, and swinging between history and current issues just causes your head to spin- with no good reason. Book was supposed to be a murder mystery, but the murder doesn't even happen until well after the half way point of the book. OK for a fluff read, but a bit disjointed and silly, even for fluff standards. Keep to her other books. ”
