A rebellious crew is the least of disciplined, honorable Captain Christian Lord's headaches when a young Irish stowaway sneaks aboard his Boston-bound ship in an attempt to find her brother and have her revenge against the man responsible for press-ganging him thirteen years before.

  • Captain Christian Lord: A fine and upstanding Royal Navy captain who lives by a strict code of honor and decency in service to his king, Christian is a lonely man who battles his own private demons following the death of his wife in a fire five years before. He is the Royal Navy's last hope of straightening out the rebellious crew of the frigate _Bold Marauder_.
  • Deirdre O'Devir: A young Irishwoman from Connemara, Deirdre is on a quest to honor a promise to her dying mother: To find her brother Roddy, press-ganged by the Royal Navy thirteen years before, and to have her revenge against the blackguard responsible (Christian).
  • Rear Admiral Sir Elliott Lord: Christian's older brother, currently stationed at Portsmouth, England.
  • Arthur Teach: An illegitimate grandson of the infamous pirate Blackbeard, Teach is part of the rebellious crew of the frigate HMS _Bold Marauder_. He would really like to see Christian dead.
  • Ian MacDuff: First lieutenant aboard HMS _Bold Marauder_ and resident all around bad bagpiper.

  • Captain Brendan Jay Merrick: Deirdre's cousin, and the favorite captain of Boston-based Royal Navy Admiral Sir Geoffrey Lloyd. Handsome, clever and a rising star in the Navy, Brendan has a talent for designing warships when not captaining the frigate HMS _Halcyon_. Brendan is the hero of CAPTAIN OF MY HEART and also appears in MY LADY PIRATE and THE ADMIRAL'S HEART.
  • Roddy O' Devir: Deirdre's older brother, who was taken by a Royal Navy press gang thirteen years before under the command of then-Lieutenant Christian Lord.
