The Tao of Physics is a wonderful book for people who are interested in spirituality and science, as well as their interaction. While it requires a bit of background knowledge in both areas, it is a very fulfilling and enriching read.

I found this book to be good at explaining the modern physics stuff well. When it came to the link with Eastern mysticism, it felt more like fitting the two together forcibly. I felt most of this comparison is based on interpreting the mystic philosophy, in such a way that it aligns with modern physics. It's like seeing a picture and saying it shows birds, animals, people and all kinds of things present in this world.
One could interpret the same mystic philosophy in such a way that it would look as if it aligns with molecular biology alone (the stuff, all stuff is recycled etc.). I believe the mystics talk about englightenment and achieving peace with themselves and with the world around. I doubt if they try to learn how matter looks or behaves at the atomic level. That philosophy is about macroscopic interactions.

In summary, I believe the mystic philosophy is about wisdom of life. The low-level details of modern physics do coincide with this when looked at from an extremely high level. Also, I didn't see the point of how comparing the meson octet to the trigrams. Same with the conversations between the master and disciple.

I wish this book was more factual and scientific than abstract, artistic and philosophical. The latter made this book quite boring.

Eastern mysticism and western science are grown more closely related over the years. What used to be in the realm of metaphysics is now modern physics. Capra picks this apart so we can digest it.

Read it first during my College but this book still occupies a proud place on my shelf. The book provides an excellent bridge between Modern Science and Eastern Mysticism. One of those books that opened up a new wave of interest for Eastern Mysticism especially for Scientific minded people. Highly Recommended.

Really good and explains whats its tittle says. It won't cover your every day physics (what you see), so don't expect that it will cite examples of classical physics. I did have some trouble in the initial stages, probably because my mind was more western, in spite of being born in east :). You might think of the initial chapters (especially Part-II The Way of Eastern Mysticism) as of useless fundas. But once you reach Part-III we will praise the beauty as to how the modern physics and mysticism are compared. You will love it.

Explores the relationship between modern physics and Eastern philosophy. A book I read many years ago, and it started my on my interest in books that cover the connection between quantam physics and the mystery of life.
