“This is a very sad book that lets light on certain aspects of the Japanese culture as well as things that are issues worldwide, such as suicide and growing up without a mother. I would definitely recommend this book, as the imagery is beautiful and the story is touching.”
“Shizuko's Daughter, A coming of age story revolving around a twelve year old girl named Yuki. The story really pulls you in and it really feels like you're making the journey with Yuki. Although the story got confusing at times due to the constant switching from 3rd person to 1st person, it was definitely a good read.”
