Nancy Drew was my idol in kindergarten, when the teacher suggested I read at a higher level than did my classmates. She's smart, she reads, and she always gets the bad guy!! Awesome.

My first introduction to the girl detective. Even if this book hadn't been the first in the series I most likely would have read it first. I have always been facinated by clocks... and old clocks.. well those are always a grabber. With a name like The Secret of the Old Clock.. I was sure to read it. Every girl should read at least one Nancy Drew book. Any book that shows young girls that they can think, wonder, and solve problems that they face.. is a great idea.

I'm putting this on my shelfari shelf because there was a time, long ago, when I just couldn't get my hands on enough Nancy Drew mysteries. The Secret of the Old Clock started it all. Brings back good memories.
